Warning signs
Be careful with any job that:
- asks you to pay for training, equipment or a background check before you start
- asks for bank details, a Social Security number or an ID copy before an interview
- offers pay that is far above normal for the work
- moves the conversation to a personal chat app right away
Local Job Post never charges job seekers, and employers should never ask you for money.
What we do
Staff can take a listing down, close the employer's account and remove the company from the site. Listings go through a review before they are published, but reports help us catch what slips through.
If it still doesn't work
If you have already shared money or personal details, contact your bank first. Then report the listing to us so we can act on the account.
