Searching for jobsFor job seekers
What does the "Sponsored" label on a job mean?
Sponsored, featured, promoted or paid listings: why some jobs sit at the top of search results and whether they are real jobs.
Last updated
"Sponsored" means the employer paid to show that listing above the regular results. It is a real job from a real employer.
How sponsored listings work
- Employers can sponsor a listing for a set budget and number of days.
- Sponsored listings appear above the other results in searches that match them.
- They always carry the orange Sponsored badge so you can tell them apart.
- Applying works exactly the same way as for any other listing.
Sponsorship does not change the pay, the job, or how your application is handled. It only changes where the listing appears.
Example listings are different
Some listings carry an Example badge instead. Those are sample jobs that show what a listing looks like. They are not real openings and you cannot apply to them. See Why can't I apply to an "Example" listing?.
If it still doesn't work
If a sponsored listing looks wrong or misleading, report it to us from the Contact page and choose the topic Report a listing.
