Posting jobsFor employers
What do Draft, In review, Active, Expired and Closed mean?
Listing status, job status, draft, pending review, approval, live, active, expired after 30 days, closed, repost, reopen, how long a job stays up, when does my job go live.
Last updated
Every listing has one status that tells you whether job seekers can see it. You can see and change it under Jobs.
The statuses
- Draft: not visible to job seekers yet. Drafts are free and do not use a listing from your plan.
- In review: you submitted it. Staff check new listings before they go live, usually within an hour.
- Active: live on Local Job Post and collecting applications. The card shows when it expires.
- Expired: ran its full time, normally 30 days. It no longer appears in search.
- Closed: you closed it before it expired.
What you can do at each status
- Draft: Submit for review
- In review: Publish now or Back to draft
- Active: Close, Expire, or Sponsor (see How do I sponsor a listing?)
- Expired: Repost 30 days
- Closed: Reopen
Reposting or reopening makes the listing live again for 30 days from today.
Why is my listing still In review?
New listings are checked by staff. If it has been more than a day, open a ticket from Help & support with the category Posting and the listing title. If staff rejected it, the listing is closed and the reason is recorded; your support ticket is the place to ask about it.
Changing the text of a live listing
The listing page in your dashboard shows status, performance, sponsorship and applicants, but does not yet have a text editor. To change wording or pay on a live listing, open a ticket from Help & support and staff will edit it for you.
If it still doesn't work
If "That status change didn't save" appears, refresh and try again. Otherwise open a ticket from Help & support.
